Josh Stoneking took Woodchuck over from his brother-in-law and renamed it in 2016, chasing one idea: honest, good craftsmanship at a fair price. We're not a marketing front for a fence factory — we're one crew based in Allen, working out of a shop on Rush Creek Drive, building the way Josh would build a fence in his own yard.

What areas does Woodchuck Millwork serve?
We work across the North Dallas suburbs — Allen (our home base), Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Richardson, Prosper, Wylie, Sachse, Fairview, Melissa, Anna, and Princeton. If you're inside the LBJ Loop on the north side, we'll usually take the call.
How long do cedar fences last in North Texas?
#1 grade cedar, installed to spec on 13-gauge heavy-duty steel posts set in concrete, typically lasts 20–25 years in DFW. Re-stain every 2–3 years to keep the color and slow UV damage. White wood pine — our budget option — is shorter, figure 12–15 years.
Do you handle permits?
Yes, when a job needs one. Most residential fence replacements in Allen, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and Richardson don't require a permit, so we rarely have to pull one — but when the city does require it, we pull the permit, submit the site plan, and meet the inspector. Homeowners never deal with the city.
How much does a cedar fence cost in DFW?
Most of our 6-foot cedar privacy fences run between $5,000 and $8,500 installed for a typical 150-linear-foot residential yard, depending on style (board-on-board, horizontal, side-by-side), post hardware, and topography. Every quote is itemized.
